A Call to Pause and Return to God

To you, lady, woman, young woman, wife, mom who is listening to me—I want to talk to you about something that concerns all of us as women: the overload of responsibilities. At some point, we have all been in that situation, or we are currently facing it.
Many times, we overload ourselves because it is in our nature to want to solve things and help everyone. But our Heavenly Father reminds us that overloading ourselves with responsibilities produces anxiety and stress. And an important question comes up: why do you allow the responsibilities of everyday life to consume you and pull you away from the source—the One who enables you to carry out each of those responsibilities?
For us as women, many times it is extremely difficult to delegate, because in our nature we want to do everything. We want to be a mom, a wife, a daughter—we want to help everyone… and we end up overloaded.
The Consequences of Overload and the Need to Return to God
But what does overload lead to? An overload of responsibilities produces physical exhaustion. And that physical exhaustion disconnects us from God, because it does not allow us to have that time of reflection and prayer with our Heavenly Father.
That is why today I invite you to take an honest look at your life, to examine how you are feeling. And if you identify as a woman who carries many responsibilities, who feels physically exhausted, tired, overwhelmed, and at times feels like you cannot go on anymore, then I want to give you the best advice I can give you today: make time to connect with God.
Seek that intimacy in prayer and in the Word. Connect with our Lord, because the Word of God reminds us that He is our peace and our strength.
Recognizing It Is Not Weakness: It Is Humility Before God
It is not wrong to acknowledge that we are overloaded. On the contrary, doing so makes us humble before God and helps us understand that we need Him in the middle of it all.
So today, if you identify with this message, remember this: you are not alone. The Creator of heaven and earth has promised to be with you until the end of time. Seek Him in intimacy, in prayer, and He will give you the peace that surpasses all understanding.
