Uncertainty in Seasons of Waiting
Today I want to talk to you about uncertainty. To you, woman who is reading this, I want to remind you that throughout our lives we will all go through moments of uncertainty. Perhaps today you find yourself in a season of waiting, facing questions without clear answers.
But what is uncertainty, really? Uncertainty is not knowing what will happen in a given situation. It is that space where the future feels undefined and the heart is filled with uneasiness.
Uncertainty in the Middle of Life’s Trials
Maybe today you are waiting for a medical diagnosis, going through a season of illness, waiting for a job opportunity, or living through a circumstance whose outcome you still do not know. In the middle of uncertainty, our minds can begin to fill with possible scenarios, thoughts, and conclusions about things we truly do not control.
And that is where the real challenge begins: not allowing uncertainty to take control of our minds and our emotions.
Uncertainty Teaches Us to Wait on God
Uncertainty calls us to be patient and to learn how to wait. Yes, to wait. Scripture reminds us that even when the future is uncertain, God is still working with purpose in the lives of His children. That is why we can say with confidence:
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”(Romans 8:28, NKJV)
Waiting is not easy—it is not. But when we trust God, we understand that waiting has a purpose and a time established by the Lord. The Word also exhorts us to wait patiently on the Lord. As the psalmist says:
“I waited patiently for the LORD; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry.”(Psalm 40:1, NKJV)
That waiting is not passive; it is a waiting filled with trust and faith.
Uncertainty and a Faith Grounded in Christ
In the middle of the trial, our faith must be grounded on the Rock, who is Christ. Do not allow the uncertainty you are facing right now to take control of your mind and your emotions. This is the moment to remember that the only One who has absolute control over all things is our Lord.
You may not have all the answers to what you are living through today, but you do have a faithful God. Uncertainty is not abandonment on God’s part; rather, it can be the space where the Lord is working intimately and deeply within us.
When Uncertainty Grows, Choose to Trust
So when the future becomes uncertain—when it feels dark and the mind fills with questions—let us choose to wait patiently on the Lord, trusting and believing that He still has absolute control over all things, even in the middle of uncertainty.
